Blue iMac    AppleWorks 6 Presentations

Open up AppleWorks 6 and select the Presentations icon Presentations icon
Scale

It's a good idea to start by clicking on the View Scale icon at the bottom of the work area. Change the scale from 100% to 50%. If the text is legible to you at this scale as you edit, it will be legible to your audience in Viewing Mode.

  •  From the Controls palette select the tab for the Master slide: what you create here will appear on all the slides
  • Format a background, which will give a common visual theme to the presentation: Options > Edit Background
  • When you have finished, go back to Options > Edit Background and click again to switch it off
  • From the Tools menu add a background by drawing a rectangle larger than the slide and filling it. Add text and graphics as for other documents
  • Don’t forget to save your work regularly
Master slide tab
Edit slides tab
  • Click on the next tab at the bottom to produce your slides
  • Click on the + button to add the next slide
  • Slides can be sorted by clicking on the slide and dragging it to the new position
  • Slides can be named by clicking on the untitled label and renaming
  • Select a slide transition animation e.g. Fade
  • Click on the eye icon to hide a slide
If you select the next tab at the bottom, you can name the folder and individual slides. Name slides and folders
Controls tab
  • Click on the Controls tab to set up the slide show
  •  Set the timing of the slide show with the slide options
  • Click Play Automatically for an automatic slide show rather than one controlled by mouse clicks
  • Click the arrow icon to view the presentation: press the space bar or click the mouse button to advance the slides
  • Press the Esc key to stop the show and return to editing
