| 1. European Union UK passports measure 124mm x
87 mm. Decide how many pages you need and cut half that number, but make the
paper dimensions 124mm x 174 mm i.e. the same height, but double the width.

2. If you intend to print your digital montages
directly onto the pages, it is advisable to make a dummy book first on which
you number the pages each side and decide on the layout, which might include a
double-page spread in the centrefold. Take the dummy book apart to see how to
organise printing.
3. Cut a cover that extends beyond the page
size from card or thicker paper as in the diagram.

4. Fold the cover in half, then score a line
about 2cm from the fold on both sides.

5. Fold along the score lines
as in the diagram to make a spine
.
6. Glue your folded inside
pages to each side of the spine.
7. Turn the cover flaps under
and glue them down.
8. Finally, glue the
spines together securely.

| This is a simple method of
making a book from a single sheet of paper. The pages are folded double.
Again, if you intend to print directly onto the page, it is advisable to make
a dummy book and mark out where the images should be placed and their
orientation before printing. 1. Take an A4 or A3 sheet of
paper and fold it accurately in half lengthways, scoring along the fold. Open
and fold it in half widthways and score along the fold again.

2. With the paper still folded in half along the width, fold back one of the
sides, placing the corners together as in the diagram, and score along the
fold. Repeat this with the other side.

3. Open up these last two flaps
and cut from the folded side as far as the middle vertical line.

4. Open up the paper to reveal
the eight sections. The diagram shows where each page is located and the
orientation of printing. Fold the paper over lengthways with any text and
images on the outside.

5. With the paper folded in
half lengthways gently push the sides together as in the diagram to form the
pages of a book.

6. Fold the front and back
covers round and score well along the spine and any other folded edges. The
double pages could be glued together.
