1. Open both Word and the program that
you want to give guidance on e.g. Paint
Shop Pro. Use the Task Bar at the bottom of your screen to
toggle between
programs: just click on one or the other to switch.

| 2. To
get a screen shot click on your target program e.g. Paint
Shop Pro, then press the PRINT SCREEN key at the top right of your keyboard: this will save a copy
of the whole screen to the clipboard.

| 3.
Click
on Word and you will see that the Cut
and Copy icons on the Standard Toolbar are greyed out, but the Paste icon is active. Click on Paste

| 4.
Your
screenshot will be pasted onto the page. It can now be formatted like any
other graphic in Word using the Picture Toolbar that appears when you click on the graphic:

5.
Draw
arrows and use Textboxes to label the illustrations
6.
It’s a good idea to group the graphics together if you are adding
labels. Select all the objects that you want to group: to highlight
multiple objects, click on one, then hold SHIFT
as you click on each of the other objects in turn |
| 7. Finally, go to Draw > Group
on the Drawing Toolbar to
convert them into a single object. |
