Paint Shop Pro 7: Joining Images
1. Open two pictures: one is the source image (i.e. with the subject you want to move) and the other is the destination image (i.e. the new background).

In this case the photo of Lester the Lurcher (from the Battersea Dogs’ Home website) is the source image and the iceberg is the destination image. At the moment relative sizes don’t matter.

2. Click on the source image [A] and use the zoom tool to magnify it about 200% so that you can work more accurately

3. Click on the Lasso freehand selection tool and select Point to Point from the Tool Options palette. Feather by 1 or 2 pixels to soften the edge.

4. You can now select the subject that you want to cut and paste by carefully clicking around its outline. Click the image wherever you want to anchor the line and change its direction.

5. To delete an anchor point from the line, press the backspace key

6. When the line encloses the selected area and has connected to the starting point, either double-click or right-click the point. The line becomes a marquee to indicate that the selection is complete.

7. Edit > Copy

8. Then click on the destination image [B] and go to Edit > Paste > As New Layer

9. Use the move tool to position the selection and click on the Deformation tool  to resize by moving the handles on the Deformation box until you are satisfied. Double-click inside the box to apply the transformations.
