| Text on a Path |
 
|
| 1.Open
a new image 500 x 500 pixels, resolution 72 pixels per inch, background colour
white, image type 16.7 million colour; or open an image that you have saved if
you want to add text to it.
2.Set
Foreground colour > black; Foreground
Style > Paint; Background
style > None
|
| 3.
Select the Preset Shapes
tool, then in the Tools Options
Palette select the Ellipse
from the Shape Type dropdown
menu; finally, check both the Antialias
and Create as vector boxes |

| 4. Draw
the ellipse on your image by holding down the left mouse button and dragging |
TIP
For
perfect circles or squares, hold Shift while dragging out the
ellipse or rectangle

5. Set
the Background Colour (for the Text); Foreground Style > None;
Background Style > Paint
6. Select the Text Tool and move the pointer over the circle
until
the cursor changes to X A with a small semi-circle by the
A, and
click to open the Text Entry dialog box.
7. Enter your text as usual but make sure that the Create
As > Floating Section box is checked > OK. Your text will follow the path of the shape you drew. If you
need to adjust it use the
Deformation Tool.

8.
Finally,
get rid of the shape by going to the Layer
Palette (bottom right corner) and dragging the layer that the shape
was drawn on (e.g. Layer 1 below) to
the Waste Bin
to delete it.
