Drop Shadows
1. Open a new image 500 x 500 pixels, resolution 72 pixels per inch, background colour white, image type 16.7 million colour; or open an image that you have saved if you want to add text to it. 2. Choose
a background colour (this will be for the Text) and set the Foreground Style to None 3. Select
the Text Tool and click on your image
to bring up the dialog box 4.
Choose a font and size, then set the following values: Create As Floating; Styles
> Fill > Paint; Stroke
None > OK

Click the colour button to choose a colour for the shadow 7.
Experiment with the other options e.g. Opacity 50; Blur 5; Vertical Offset 15; Horizontal Offset 11 > OK
[Different settings will give harder or softer edged shadows] 8.
Go to Selections > Select None to
