Microsoft Word: Graphics 5

  WordArt and Watermarks

WordArt can be grouped with a picture or made into a watermark in two ways:

Method 1
Select your graphic by clicking on it and from the Picture Toolbar, which should appear automatically, choose Image Control > Watermark

Note: Text will not always print on top of the watermark, it depends on your printer settings. Check Print Preview first

Example 1

For this kind of effect place the WordArt on top of the ClipArt. Group them by clicking on one to select it, then holding Shift and selecting the other. Now choose Group from the Draw menu. Check the result in Print Preview.

Method 2
Insert your graphic onto the background layer so that it appears on every page of that document: View > Header and Footer. Position it on the page. Click Close to return to the document page.

Example 2

For this kind of effect Cut the WordArt and Paste it into the background layer as a watermark: choose View > Header and Footer then Paste. Close the header and Footer page and position the WordArt  on top of the watermark. Check the outcome in Print Preview again.
